Strengths
- Excels as a run blocker with adequate pass-protection skills. Powerful blocker who is able to open up running lanes with his strength profile.
- Possesses authoritarian strength. Can dominate at the point of attack and has the lower body strength to displace defenders.
- Vice-like grip strength. He has a wrestling background, and that shows up when left 1-on-1.
- Has the versatility to play guard or center.
- Has a sturdy anchor and low center of gravity to maintain a foothold in pass protection.
- Innate instincts to take on combo blocks and showcase exceptional awareness pre-snap.
- Exceptional technique and hand placement to maintain leverage and win in the trenches.
- Intelligence, awareness, and power may see him project best as a center.
- Has the lateral athleticism to be a lead blocker and can climb to the second level.
Areas to Improve
- He is slightly undersized for a guard. His height is in the 24th percentile, and his weight is about average (53rd percentile).
- Lacks the length to keep defenders away from his chest in pass protection. 32 ½-inch arms ranks 28th percentile for a guard.
- Size bracket also hints towards a center projection. Played only one snap anywhere other than left guard in college.
- A late bloomer who couldn’t see the field at Georgia. Has found his feet with the Gamecocks but there are questions about his ability to compete against the highest level of competition.

Clay Webb NFL Draft Outlook
After committing to Georgia as a five-star recruit, Webb only appeared in a handful of games and opted to transfer to Jacksonville State in 2022. In Jacksonville, Alabama, Webb has become one of the most consistent guards in college football and was CSN’s Guard of the Year in 2023.
Possessing strong traits that will allow him to transition to the NFL with a high floor, Webb has the fundamentals and refined skills to ascend into a starter. His lack of length shows up at times.
However, the Gamecocks’ left guard uses his intense power and substantial athleticism to constantly open running lanes and prevent interior penetration in pass protection to feature in a variety of schemes.
He’s one of the most powerful offensive linemen in the class and could stick at the top of an NFL roster, especially if he’s able to develop the ability to play center.
Bottom Line: As the senior now moves to the next level, his ingrained instincts, awareness, and anticipation hint at a move to center. Webb took reps at both guard and center spots at the 2025 Senior Bowl, and teams will be intrigued by his projection in the middle of the offensive line.
His upper-tier athleticism, powerful blocking, and relentless mentality could see Webb start at either center or guard early in his NFL career, where his refined technique, strong anchor, and hand placement can make him a lockdown prospect.
Projection: Rounds 4-5
