Banana Ball came to Clemson Thursday night as the Savannah Bananas All-Stars played against the Clemson baseball team in an exhibition game.
Needless to say, Clemson players and coaches embraced the matchup and had a ton of fun during the game.
The Clemson baseball team took part in the Banana Ball Dance in the middle of the game, which you can see below. The Tigers went all out, including backflips.
From pregame, all the way throughout the night, Clemson players and coaches fully participated in Banana Ball. During pregame, Clemson baseball head coach Erik Bakich took off his jersey and was shirtless for a weigh-in on the field.

Ultimately, the Savannah Bananas All-Stars earned a 4-1 win. But as Erik Bakich said postgame, it wasn’t about winning or losing. It was about creating a fun environment and putting on a show at Clemson.
“For our players to get exposure to 3,000,000 followers that they have and have their content and their plays and all the cool stuff they did go viral on social media and what that will do, putting the spotlight on them,” Erik Bakich said. “In today’s world that we live in, the NIL spotlight should be on football and basketball. But when we can shine the spotlight on college baseball and do something awesome like this, that’s a huge win. Tonight was a huge win promoting and highlighting our team.
“That’s the greatest show right there. The energy, everything you saw, the show they put on.”
Bakich added that he was taking mental notes throughout the exhibition to come up with ways to make Clemson baseball a more fun experience and attract more fans.
“Fireworks going off in my head of ‘How can we recreate this?’ That’s a Super Regional atmosphere, plus a bunch of notches, just because there’s no dull moments. I mean it’s just absolutely incredible,” Bakich said.
“The energy that was in the stadium tonight, we’ve just got to find a way, and we will do it, to create that energy here as often as possible.”
