College baseball: BPCC sweeps Northeast Texas

In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Bossier Parish Community College swept a doubleheader against Northeast Texas 7-1 and 12-8 Friday in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

BPCC improved to 17-5 overall and 8-2 in Region 14.

Hayden Stringfellow set the tone early with a three-run home run in the first inning, providing an immediate boost to the team’s morale. Stringfellow continued to shine, hitting another home run later in the game.

Dylan Biddick was a key contributor with three hits, while Gianluca Montanaro added two hits.

On the mound, Ben McKinnon delivered a solid performance, pitching five innings, allowing only one earned run and five hits. Zander Bretza Zander Bretza closed out the game with two innings securing the win.

The second game was a high-scoring affair.

 Parker Gwyn contributed two hits, while Biddick and Montanaro each had three hits, continuing their strong performances from the first game. Bennett Mittelsteadt added two hits.

Garrett Blanchard pitched five innings, giving up five hits and recording two strikeouts. Jake Guidry was effective out of the bullpen, pitching two innings, allowing only three hits and no runs.

BPCC will be on the road Monday against Delgado at 1 p.m. at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette

The Cavs will host sixth-ranked ranked Eunice at home  Wednesday at 3.
