HOBBS, N.M. The Odessa College baseball team won the Western Junior College Athletic Conference title outright after splitting a doubleheader with New Mexico Junior College Friday on the road.
The Thunderbirds won the first game 8-2 before the Wranglers clinched the series with an 11-8 win in the second game in Friday’s doubleheader.
Odessa College won both Games 1 and 2 Thursday at home.
With the win, the Wranglers moved to 37-14 overall, 30-6 in WJCAC and will host the first round of the Region V Tournament next week which will take place from May 7-10.
Midland College (46-9, 29-7) finished second.
