Every season, college basketball organizations hand out various Player of the Year type awards.
The two most prestigious awards are the Naismith Award and the John R. Wooden Award. Both are given annually to the top men’s college basketball player in the country. The Wooden Award also considers other factors, such as character and academics, but most years the same player wins both awards.
