North Carolina A&T vs. Northeastern

North Carolina A&T suspended top scorers Ryan Forrest and Landen Glasper seven games ago. Since their first loss without them (83-62), A&T has allowed 72 points or fewer in every game. They were outside the top 300 in points per possession allowed before the suspensions but have since gone 3-3 in their last six games, losing all three losses by 10 points or fewer.

Pick: North Carolina A&T +12 (Greg’s Handicap: North Carolina A&T +8)

Detroit vs. UW Green Bay

UW Green Bay is last in the nation in offensive rebound percentage at home (14.9%). On defense, they rank 340th in home 3-point defense, allowing opponents to shoot 38.7% from beyond the arc. Detroit allows teams to shoot just 32.9% from 3-point range this season.

Pick: Detroit +4 (Greg’s Handicap: Detroit -3.5)

Winthrop vs. Longwood

Longwood ranks 32nd in turnovers forced per possession. Winthrop leads the nation in free throw attempts per game but ranks 336th in free throw percentage at home (66.1%). Winthrop also ranks 298th in turnovers per game (13.2).

UW Milwaukee leads the country in rebounding percentage, limiting Oakland’s interior strength. Oakland ranks 354th in 3-point shooting percentage (29.1%) and 342nd in opponent 3-point shooting percentage (37.1%). Oakland’s defense ranks 269th in points per possession allowed.

Pick: UW Milwaukee -5.5 (Greg’s Handicap: UW Milwaukee -10)

Pick: Middle Tennessee +1.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Middle Tennessee -3.5)

Idaho State vs. Idaho

Idaho State ranks 47th in defensive rebound percentage. They play at a slow tempo (261st in possessions per game), while Idaho plays at an even slower pace (271st in possessions per game).

Pick: Under 150.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 143)

UC Irvine has been elite defensively, ranking second in points per possession allowed away from home. However, UC Irvine struggles with turnovers, ranking 280th in offensive turnovers per possession.
