During Georgia’s pro day, many were questioning the absence of Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart. Well, the reason was revealed yesterday. EA Sports released the cover for “EA College Football 26’s Deluxe Edition”, with Kirby Smart and Georgia’s mascot Hairy Dawg on the cover.
The return of “College Football 25” was one of the most exciting parts of the 2024 offseason. After a decade without the game, EA released it over the summer, and it was very popular. With the new cover released, you can see Kirby Smart in the front row near the left, and Hairy Dawg right behind him.
Smart is one of six head coaches on the cover, with Penn State‘s James Franklin, Ohio State‘s Ryan Day, Oregon‘s Dan Lanning, Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham, and Ole Miss’s Lane Kiffin also pictured, although not as clearly as Smart.
Hairy Dawg is one of a few mascots on the photo as well. The Oregon Duck, Smokey from Tennessee, and The Tiger from Clemson are also represented.
Many wondered why Kirby Smart couldn’t make his own pro day, a time where players are gearing up to be noticed by the NFL, but it makes sense for Smart to get exposure for UGA.
