Thursday College Football Player Props

Beaux Collins 17+ Receiving Yards (-115, DraftKings)

Beaux Collins is Notre Dame’s WR1, but that doesn’t mean all that much this year (37-458-3 receiving line). That said, if you believe he’ll catch at least two passes against the Nittany Lions, which I very much do, then surpassing 17+ yards is all but guaranteed.

Collins’ performances in games with multiple catches this year:

  • vs. Indiana: 2 receptions for 18 yards
  • vs. Army: 4 for 37
  • vs. Navy: 2 for 42
  • vs. Georgia Tech: 5 for 51
  • vs. Stanford: 4 for 85
  • vs. Miami-OH: 4 for 60
  • vs. Purdue: 2 for 9
  • vs. Northern Illinois: 5 for 45
  • vs. Texas A&M: 5 for 62

Nicholas Singleton Anytime Touchdown (+115, FanDuel)

Penn State has played in five one-score this season. Outside of the battle with the Ohio State Buckeyes — in which the Nittany Lions scored zero offensive touchdowns — RB Nicholas Singleton generated a TD in all of them.

Yes, QB Drew Allar and RB Kaytron Allen can steal carries, even in the red zone, but over the last four games, Singleton still leads the team with eight goal-line carries. Plus, scoring is just a part of his DNA, as he’s put Penn State on the board in 12 of 14 games this season (nine rushing and five receiving).

Jeremiyah Love Under 34.5 Rushing Yards (-114, FanDuel)

There are a couple of key factors going against Jeremiyah Love’s rushing yards prop in this one. First, he re-aggravated a knee injury he suffered in the regular-season finale against the USC Trojans. Although he is expected to play, he could receive a smaller rushing share.

Second, Love faces a Penn State defense that ranks fourth overall in EPA per rush and 17th in success rate. Sure, he’s averaging 7+ yards per carry on the year, but outside of a 98-yard TD, he tapped out at 10 yards on seven carries against Indiana and 19 on six against Georgia.

Harrison Wallace Over 43.5 Receiving Yards (-114, FanDuel)

The Fighting Irish boast one of the best defenses in the nation, ranking second in EPA per play, sixth in success rate, fourth in net points per drive, and second in points per game (13.6).

However, Penn State can move the ball offensively (ninth in EPA per play and third in success rate), and I expect WR Harrison Wallace to be a large reason why.

Notre Dame is going to key on All-world TE Tyler Warren, likely matching him up with safety Xavier Watts. That should open up the rest of the field, especially vertically.

According to Pro Football Focus, Wallace has hauled in 12 of 13 targets at 3.11 yards per route run against man coverage this season. Irish defensive coordinator Al Golden isn’t scared of leaving his corners on an island. Wallace has surpassed this line in all but one game since Oct. 5, and I expect him to do so again here.
