The College Football Playoff has reached the quarterfinal stage and we are all set for some really strong games. After a dud of a first round, many are hoping to see more excitement from these four matchups.
In the Peach Bowl, the Arizona State Sun Devils will be taking on the Texas Longhorns. Arizona State shocked pretty much everyone in college football to win the Big 12 Conference this season.
Texas fell short of winning the SEC this year and will be coming off a big win over the Clemson Tigers in the first round of the playoff. Despite being the lower-seeded team, the Longhorns are being seen as the favorites in this game.
There are some who still doubt Arizona State and need to see them win a game like this. But the Sun Devils don’t care and simply have gone about their business this season.
Arizona State enters this game with a record of 11-2 on the year while the Longhorns hold a record of 12-2, including the first playoff victory. Texas has only lost to the Georgia Bulldogs this season, making this matchup very interesting.

But who wins this game? Newsweek Sports has expert predictions to get you ready for this anticipated contest.
Matt Levine: Both these teams enter this game with something to prove. Texas is looking to keep going strong and fend off any attacks questioning them as a true contender. Arizona State wants to prove themselves in the eyes of the national fan but they also feel good about their chances here.
The Sun Devils have been the surprise of the season and they have the tools to make life tough on the Longhorns. But in the end, Texas may have too much firepower and will move on to the next round of the playoff.
Prediction: Texas 30, Arizona State 20
Ricardo Sandoval: The Arizona State Sun Devils will look to continue their winning ways for a chance to advance to the semi-final round. However, their toughest challenge of the season is ahead of them as they are set to face the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns were in the semi-final last year when it was just four teams, and I expect them to get there again to ruin the Sun Devils’ season, which earned them a spot as a top-four team.
Prediction: Texas 34, Arizona State 28
Valentina Martinez: Arizona State has proved their critics wrong from the onset of the season, and will do it once more against the Longhorns. Though Texas is expected to win this game based on it being a more established program, the Sun Devils will get the unexpected victory.
Prediction: Arizona State 30, Texas 29
Ryan Stano: Cam Skattebo is better than any running back Texas has seen this season in the SEC, but they have a solid run defense. Quinn Ewers has struggled a bit, but Texas’ talent is just too much for the Sun Devils.
Prediction: Texas 31 ASU 17
