Recruiting background: A 6-foot-0, 190-pound athlete out of Lake Wales (Fla.) High School, Kaneilius Purdy committed to the Seminoles over Power Four offers from Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCF, Wake Forest and West Virginia, among others. The two-way standout plays quarterback, running back, wide receiver and defensive back for his high school team, but he tells Noles247 that he was recruited by Florida State as an athlete who could potentially play on either side of the ball at the next level, but he is expected to start out at wide receiver. The Sunshine State product is commit No. 3 for the Seminoles in the 2027 recruiting cycle. In 10 games as a sophomore, Purdy hauled in 46 receptions for 767 yards and 10 touchdowns and carried the ball nine times for 96 yards and two scores on offense, per MaxPreps. Defensively, he notched 15 tackles, one interception and two forced fumbles.

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-2, 175-pound cornerback out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Western, Bryce Williams committed to the Seminoles during a Tuesday visit with head coach Mike Norvell in his office, which was part of a larger unofficial visit to Tallahassee. He chose FSU over offers from Auburn, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State, NC State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, UCF and USC, among others. Florida State associate head coach Odell Haggins was the lead recruiter for the in-state prospect, who becomes the fourth member of the Seminoles’ 2027 recruiting class. In 12 games as a sophomore, Williams tallied 29 tackles, one tackle for loss, three interceptions and 14 pass breakups, per MaxPreps.
