College football recruiting rankings: Top 25 classes in 2026 cycle after fresh Top247 update

A fresh update to the Top247 for the 2026 college football recruiting class was released Wednesday. Twelve new five-star prospects, 26 newcomers, and several notable risers headlined the latest individual rankings. Those changes also impacted the updated team recruiting rankings for the class.

USC is on a tear after a strong February push, giving the Big Ten four of the top 10 highest-ranked classes so far. The SEC — which also has four teams in the current top 10 — has claimed the title of “recruiting champion” every year since 247Sports began tracking rankings in 2010, but the Big Ten could soon end that streak. There are a handful of surprises in the mix for a top 25 class, with Arkansas, Illinois and Kansas all off to unexpectedly strong starts.

So, which college football programs have the early edge in recruiting for the 2026 class?
