The 2024 college football season has three remaining games. The first is Thursday’s Orange Bowl matchup in Miami between No. 7 Notre Dame (13-1) and No. 6 Penn State (13-2) at 7:30 p.m. CT. The teams have some history, as the series is tied 9-9-1 all-time.

The Nittany Lions picked up a 31-10 win in State College, Pennsylvania, the last time the programs got together on the football field on Sept. 8, 2007. Notre Dame had won the previous two matchups prior in 2006 and 1992, both in South Bend, Indiana.
The Fighting Irish picked up a 23-10 win over No. 2 Georgia in its quarterfinal game, reaching 13 wins for the first time in program history. Penn State’s quarterfinal win shut down star running back Ashton Jeanty en route to a 31-14 victory to advance.
Thursday’s victor will play the winner of the matchup between No. 8 Ohio State and No. 5 Texas. Both teams will square off Friday in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
