Texas lost nine players to the transfer portal from its CFP semifinal roster, but none were significant contributors. Derion Gullette, for instance, played in just five games and logged two tackles in his redshirt freshman campaign. Gullette is a former blue-chip recruit, though, and found a landing spot in the SEC at Mississippi State, where he should have a clearer path to playing time after he found himself buried on one of the nation’s most elite defenses.
