Coveted Stanford transfer David Bailey signs with Texas Tech football

Add another name to the Texas Tech football team’s impressive transfer portal haul ahead of the 2025 season.

Already boasting one of the top transfer portal classes in the country, the Red Raiders earned a commitment from coveted EDGE rusher David Bailey out of Stanford, according to multiple media reports on Friday night.

Texas Tech has since officially announced the signing of Bailey.

Bailey joins a Texas Tech transfer portal class that ranks No. 1 at 247Sports and On3.

Bailey spent the first three years of his college career at Stanford but entered the transfer portal after the recent firing of head coach Troy Taylor. 247Sports and On3 each rated Taylor among the 10 best players to enter the portal throughout the 2024-25 cycle.

Named a freshman all-American after the 2022 season, Bailey had seven sacks, five forced fumbles, eight tackles for a loss of yardage and eight quarterback hurries last season.

Bailey has one year of eligibility remaining plus a redshirt year available.
