Cowboys vs Texans Expert Predictions for Monday Night Football Week 11

Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season concludes with a Monday Night showdown between the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys.

The 6-4 Texans are coming off back-to-back primetime losses to the New York Jets and Detroit Lions. The 3-6 Cowboys, on the other hand, have lost four in a row, and their season seems to be spiraling with quarterback Dak Prescott out for the year.

The Cowboys, coming off an embarrassing 34-6 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, are looking to essentially keep their season alive on Monday night. Conversely, the Texans are looking to get theirs back on track, and maintain a comfortable lead in the AFC South over the second place, 5-6 Indianapolis Colts.

Will the Cowboys get the massive home upset in primetime, or will the Texans get the much-needed win to continue their dominant season? The staff at Newsweek Sports has their predictions.

Noah Camras: The battle of Texas teams is lopsided this year as the Texans enter the matchup as one of the better teams in the NFL, and the Cowboys enter as one of the worst. Cooper Rush has struggled mightily in relief of Dak Prescott, and Monday night should be no different. The Texans are the much better team, and they’ll prove it on Monday night in dominant fashion.

Prediction: Texans 31, Cowboys 13

Matt Levine: The Texans are fighting to keep pace in the AFC standings while the Cowboys are fighting for pride. Dallas has lost multiple starters to injury, including quarterback Dak Prescott, which will make it tough to compete down the stretch. Normally this could be a good matchup, but Houston will be too much for the Cowboys to overcome.

Prediction: Texans 30, Cowboys 17

Eva Geitheim: The Texans haven’t been firing on all cylinders lately, but they get star wide receiver Nico Collins back this week. On the flip side, the Cowboys are extremely injured, starting with their quarterback. Houston should get back on track with this one.

Prediction: Texans 24, Cowboys 13

Ricardo Sandoval: The Cowboys have yet to win a home game this year, and I don’t expect that to change on Monday night. The Texans aren’t the juggernaut we all thought they’d be at this point in the season, but they are better than the Cowboys, whose playoff chances are dwindling by the week. I expect the Cowboys to put up a fight, but not much else.

Prediction: Texans 31, Cowboys 20
