After sending 13 teams into the NCAA baseball tournament, the SEC only sent two teams to Omaha in Arkansas and LSU. The Razorbacks and Tigers will look to extend the SEC’s dominance in Omaha, as the last five national champions have come from the SEC.
The eight-team CWS field is also one of the more diverse fields in recent years, as there are two teams each from the SEC and ACC, a team from the Big 12 (Arizona), the Missouri Valley Conference (Murray State), the Big Ten (UCLA), the Sun Belt (Coastal Carolina) and an independent (Oregon State).
