I can confirm that D3 Thomas College (ME) will name Gavin Kane as their new head women’s basketball coach. He will replace Jason Coleman who resigned earlier this spring.
Kane joined the Thomas staff prior to last season as the head women’s club basketball coach and associate head coach on the varsity team. Before coming to Waterville, Kane spent seven seasons as the head WBB coach and assistant AD at Maine Presque Isle.
The veteran coach has also served as a men’s assistant at D3 Maine Farmington and a women’s assistant at D1 Maine. Additionally, he has had a ton of success at the HS level in Maine, and has been inducted into both the New England Basketball Hall of Fame (2013) and The Maine Basketball Hall of Fame (2020).
An official announcement is expected shortly.
