Deion Sanders shot down any notion that he’ll control where his sons Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders will play in the NFL.
Both are headed to the NFL Draft, along with Heisman winner Travis Hunter. The Colorado stars in Shedeur and Hunter are expected to go in the top five, while Shilo will be picked in the later rounds.
But with Shedeur Sanders sporting some New York Giants’ cleats lately, there’s been more than one theory about where the QB and his brother will go.
“It will be multiple IDIOTS that will say things that totally aren’t true regarding where I would like (Shedeur and Shilo) to play in the NFL,” Sanders wrote on Twitter. “If I say it I will say it directly to whom it may concern not a attention seeker. I do know (NFL commissioner Roger Goodell) personally!”
Deion Sanders also followed up with another tweet: “They’ve already started the lying and positioning but they forgot I got TIME TODAY.”
The Giants might’ve played themselves out of the No. 1 overall pick with a win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, but even five-star freshman Julian Lewis believes Shedeur Sanders is the future QB of New York.
There’ve been internet theories about the Las Vegas Raiders acquiring the top pick either by record or trade and selecting Shedeur Sanders as the face of the franchise. Could that be a package deal with Shilo in Vegas? Or any other team?
Maybe. The talk even trended towards Shedeur Sanders and Hunter playing together in the NFL. But something like that would take “wizardry,” according to Colorado OC Pat Shurmur.
“If they could pull that off, good for them. That’s GM wizardry if you could pull that off,” Shurmur responded, regarding the possibility of Sanders and Hunter being united in the NFL after their time together in college. “I have a huge respect for both players. I’ve told all the pro scouts, If you need a quarterback, take Shedeur. If you don’t take him, you’re taking the second best guy, in my opinion. If you don’t need a quarterback and there are some teams that don’t need a quarterback, you should take Travis. To me it’s a very simple discussion.
“When I think of these two players, these are guys that have helped change the course of history for Colorado Buffalo football, along with Coach Prime. I just have a huge respect for them, and I think they’re just going to dominate the next level.”
