Denver Nuggets Team Info and News

Busy night on defense

It’s the first time Nnaji has recorded multiple steals and blocks in the same game since a Feb. 12 start in which he racked up three pilfers and four rejections over 37 minutes in a start against the Trail Blazers. The fifth-year center was far more efficient Friday, but his lack of consistent court time puts a damper on his fantasy appeal. Nnaji has played more than 20 minutes only once in his last 10 appearances, averaging just 13.5 minutes during that span but still producing 1.3 blocks and 0.9 steals to go along with 3.6 points, 2.2 boards and 1.0 assists.

Three more blocks in Friday’s start

With Jamal Murray (hamstring) sidelined, Watson got the start and once again made an impact at the defensive end of the court, recording multiple blocks for the fourth straight game. Despite his 6-foot-7 stature, the third-year forward has been an impressive source of rejections since returning from a knee sprain that cost him all of February and the first game of March. Over his last 11 appearances, Watson has averaged 10.2 points, 3.9 boards, 2.1 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 threes in 26.1 minutes a contest while shooting 53.0 percent from the floor and 47.8 percent from long distance.

Hits for 20 in Friday’s rout

The 26-year-old forward supplied at least 20 points for the second straight contest as Porter extended his streak of games with double-digit points to 19. He’s been more floor than ceiling during that run, averaging 16.9 points, 7.9 boards, 2.3 threes, 2.2 assists and 1.3 combined steals and blocks while providing a reliable complement to Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray (hamstring) when the Nuggets are at full strength.
