With the final grades from the fall semester now posted from the classroom and the baseball diamond, change is coming. College baseball coaches around the country have to make difficult decisions about their rosters this time of year. Some players make their own decisions and opt to transfer or to simply go to school without playing baseball.
The new roster cap is expected to see the squad size in college baseball trimmed from 40 down to 34. The proposed reduction is not quite official, but school skippers are already making adjustments in advance of the eventual approval.
Mississippi State put together a strong fall practice season. The Bulldogs are expected to contend for some important things this coming spring. Due to a strong recruiting class and a robust portal group, the Diamond Dawgs are projected to be a potential hosting destination once the NCAA tournament field is set.
