Legendary former New England Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri will have to wait another year for a shot at making the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025 was revealed Thursday night at the NFL Honors, and just four players are being enshrined this year.

This was Vinatieri’s first year of eligibility since his retirement from the league in 2021. The museum’s selection committee previously named him one of fifteen modern-era player finalists this year.

He played for the Patriots for ten seasons from 1996 to 2005, during which he won three Super Bowls with the team.

Who is Adam Vinatieri?

Adam Vinatieri is a New England Patriots legend who played for the team from 1996 to 2005. After his time in New England, he played for the Indianapolis Colts from 2006 to 2019 before retiring in 2021. He is widely considered one of the greatest kickers of all time.

Vinatieri won four Super Bowls during his 24-year career, including three with the Patriots.

He famously kicked both the game-tying and winning field goals through a blizzard in the 2001 AFC Divisional Round against the Oakland Raiders.

Later that season, he also kicked the game-winning field goal in the final seconds of Super Bowl XXXVI, which earned the Patriots their first championship.
