DIETRICH, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Dietrich’s Connor Perkins put pen to paper and signed to the North Dakota State College of Science for National Signing Day on Wednesday.
“It feels amazing,” Perkins told KMVT. “This is something I’ve strived for since I was young, and I didn’t know if it was always possible.
Perkins was one of the most electric players from the 2024 season, being named a First-Team All-State quarterback and defensive back in 1A.
He was also named the 1A Sawtooth Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was an All-Conference DB.
Perkins led the Blue Devils to the 1A state championship game, passing for over 1,300 yards and 29 touchdowns, while rushing for over 1,600 yards and 32 more scores on the year.
Defensively, he recorded 90 tackles to go along with four interceptions.
Perkins is excited at the next level to represent his small community.
“One thing I really hope to prove is that coming from a small school, you can make it to a higher level, and that was a reason I chose a junior college,” Perkins said. “I want to prove myself coming from a small town like Dietrich, Idaho.”
With the Wildcats, Perkins will come in as an athlete and determine whether quarterback, wide receiver, or defensive back is the best fit
“I hope I can leave an impact for the younger generations to come knowing that coming from a small school, you can accomplish your dreams,” Perkins passionately explained. “This has been a dream of mine for a long time and I hope it influences my brothers to think the same and make a impact in their lives to grow and make it to the next level as well.”
