Rocky Mountain College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Danny Neville has announced his assistant coaching staff for the 2025-26 season.

Garrett Duffin and DaiSean Kirk will man the bench alongside Coach Neville in his first season at the helm for Rocky Men’s Basketball.

Garrett Duffin | Assistant Coach

Duffin joins the Rocky Mountain College Men’s Basketball Program before the 2025-2026 season.

“Garrett is a great coach with a great track record.” Coach Neville said about Garrett. “He’s everything you want in an assistant coach with his ability to recruit and develop players. He’s a guy who will have great relationships with our players, and I’m excited to get to work with him.”

Duffin spent last season as an assistant at Trine University, where they finished the 2024-2025 season 21-5. He assisted in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, and game planning via film breakdown and scouting.

Before his time at Trine, Duffin worked as the Director of Player Development for Minnesota State University, Mankato, for the 2023-2024 season. During his tenure, the Mavericks won the NCAA Division II National Championship, completing the run with a final record of 35-2 and NSIC regular season and conference tournament championships.

Duffin began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant for three seasons with Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois, while attending Physical Therapy School. While at Waubonsee, the Chiefs achieved their most successful season in school history, advancing to the NJCAA Division II Elite Eight and setting a program record with 26 wins. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Illinois University in May 2023.

In four full seasons assisting at the collegiate level, Duffin has helped develop 11 All-Conference selections and two All-Americans. A native of Princeton, Illinois, Duffin graduated from Princeton High School in 2015.

DaiSean Kirk | Assistant Coach

Kirk joins Rocky after serving in various coaching roles at his alma mater, Ottawa University-Arizona (OUAZ).

“I’ve known Dai’Sean for a couple of years, and he is a bright young coach.” Coach Neville said. “His experience and ability to connect with our student athletes will be a game changer for us. He’s been a part of some great teams, including a Fab Four run at Ottawa University in Arizona. I’m excited to get to work with Coach Kirk!”

Kirk ended his playing career due to injury, undergoing back-to-back surgeries as a senior and then again as a graduate student. During his graduate year, his team reached the NCCAA National Championship, finishing runner-up. Afterward, he transitioned into coaching as a graduate assistant.

During his time as a graduate assistant, the team defeated Division I program Denver University, won the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship—marking the program’s first appearance—and advanced to the national tournament for the first time in school history.

After earning his master’s degree, Kirk joined the coaching staff as a full-time assistant. That season, the team won its second consecutive conference championship and advanced to the Fab Four in the NAIA National Tournament.

Ottawa returned to the NAIA National Tournament the following year and reached the second round. After a period of rapid success, Head Coach Matt Keeley and Associate Head Coach Cale Brubaker accepted coaching positions at Northwest Missouri State. With the head coaching vacancy, Kirk stepped into the role of interim head coach for nearly two months while the university searched for its new head coach, Tyler Ojanen.

During Kirk’s time on staff at Ottawa University, the team compiled a record of 79–38. He served as the head coach of the developmental team for two years and took on increasing responsibilities, including recruiting, scouting, and various program operations.

DaiSean Kirk is from Surprise, Arizona, where he attended college and played basketball at Ottawa University-Arizona (OUAZ). Kirk was part of the university’s inaugural class at OUAZ. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Communications and his master’s degree in Leadership.

In high school, Kirk averaged 14 points and 15.5 rebounds per game as a junior, leading the state of Arizona in rebounding. He received All-State and All-Region honors. As a senior, he ranked in the top five statewide in rebounding, again earned All-State and All-Region honors, and was selected to play in the Senior All-Star Game for the Class of 2015.
