The sophomore edition of the EA Sports College Football video games series is set to release soon, and players with Florida ties are heavily represented on the cover.

The standard edition of the game features Alabama’s Ryan Williams and Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith, both whom starred as freshmen receivers last season. Smith, the former No. 1 overall recruit, attended Chaminade-Madonna High School in Opa Locka, Florida.

The deluxe cover of the game, which costs more than the standard edition, also has Tim Tebow and DJ Lagway, the former and current quarterbacks for the Gators. Denard Robinson, who starred at Michigan out of Deerfield Beach High School, is also on the deluxe cover.

EA Sports College Football 25, which returned after a 12-year hiatus last summer due to new rules regarding name, image and likeness, featured Travis Hunter Jr., Quinn Ewers and Donovan Edwards. Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy and went No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Here’s everything to know about each player with Florida connections on the EA Sports College Football 26 cover:

Jeremiah Smith

Smith, who was already one of the best players in college football as a true freshman, caught 76 passes for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns at Ohio State, helping lead the Buckeyes to a national championship win.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound receiver was the No. 1-ranked recruit of the 2024 class, and lived up to that billing in his first season. Some NFL scouts reportedly told ESPN he would’ve been a top five pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, despite being a freshman.

DJ Lagway

Lagway showed flashes of greatness as a true freshman in 2024, and is poised to make a big jump for the Gators as a sophomore in 2025.

Lagway completed 115 of 192 passes for 1,915 yards with 12 touchdowns to nine interceptions a season ago, also rushing for 101 yards on 50 carries. The former five-star recruit battled multiple injuries and also started the year as the backup quarterback to Graham Mertz.

The Willis, Texas, native was the No. 7 overall recruit and No. 2 quarterback of the 2024 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He’s expected to be one of the best up-and-coming quarterbacks in college football next fall, hence his inclusion on the game’s cover.

Tim Tebow

The first of two old-school inclusions on the cover, Tim Tebow is one of the most famed college football quarterbacks ever, winning a Heisman Trophy and two national championships at Florida.

Tebow was a first-round pick in 2010, but he only appeared in three seasons despite leading the Denver Broncos to a playoff win in 2011. He later bounced around multiple practice squads before giving baseball a try, reaching the New York Mets’ Triple-A affiliate in 2019.

Tebow is now a college football analyst for ESPN and SEC Network. He was on the cover NCAA Football 11.

Denard Robinson

One of the most electrifying quarterbacks of the modern era, Robinson was actually the cover athlete of NCAA Football 14, the last game before the reboot in 2024.

Robinson threw for 6,250 yards with 49 touchdowns in his career, also rushing for 4,495 yards with a whopping 42 touchdowns. His rushing prowess got him drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, where he turned into a running back for four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Robinson was a four-star recruit out of Deerfield Beach High School, and was rated the No. 122 player nationally in the 2009 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings.
