East Carolina baseball vs. Coastal Carolina: Live updates from NCAA Regional Championship

It all comes down to this for East Carolina baseball.

The Pirates (35-25) will take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (50-11) Sunday night, June 1, to determine the Conway Regional champion in the NCAA Tournament. Sunday’s game will be at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

ECU got here after winning earlier on Sunday afternoon. In that elimination game, the Pirates pulled off an 11-4 win over Florida — the team’s second win over the Gators in the tournament — to survive and advance to the title game.

CCU, meanwhile, has not lost in postseason play. These teams met on Saturday night, with the Chanticleers pulling off an 18-7 win.

Given that the NCAA Baseball Tournament is double-elimination, East Carolina needs to beat Coastal Carolina twice to advance to Super Regionals, while CCU only needs to beat ECU once. Should ECU win Sunday night, a winner-take-all game will be held Monday night.
