Eastern Florida State College Baseball Team Falls to Florida Southwestern State Bucs

A double-dip is set Saturday at Florida Southwestern State College

BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a back-and-forth game against Florida Southwestern State College at Bruce Bochy Field on Thursday evening.

The Titans fell to the Bucs 15-9 in a Citrus Conference game.

Eastern Florida State College jumped out to the early lead when Bo Tabola hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The Titans would score three times in the inning.

Florida Southwestern would string four hits together and score twice in the third inning. They would tie the game in the third inning on a groundout.

The Titans would take the lead again in the bottom of the third when Bryce Jackson walked and scored on Shane Thomas’ double.

The Bucs would score twice in the fourth inning and then take command in the fifth inning, sending 10 hitters to the place and scored five runs highlighted by a two-run home run by Nick Pereira.

Down 10-4 in the sixth inning, Bo Tabola struck again with a two-run double and then Ryan Cerrone followed with a two-run single as the Titans scored five runs to cut the Bucs lead to 10-9.

But that would be as close as the Titans would get as the Bucs scored twice in the seventh, another run in the eighth and twice in the ninth to pick up the win.

Eastern Florida State College, who is now 7-9 in the conference, will travel to Florida Southwestern State College on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
