Ex-Louisville basketball star just put the nation on notice about Kelsey’s X-factor

Louisville basketball is having one of the best offseasons in all of college basketball, as the Cardinals’ three additions rank No. 3 in the nation. The Cardinals went the quantity-over-quality route this offseason, and it has worked wonders so far.

The Cardinals also landed the No. 1 point guard in the 2025 class and consensus 5-star recruit, Mikel Brown Jr. The Cardinal’s three additions, Adrian Wooley, Ryan Conwell, and Isaac McKneely, will join Brown, making one of the most exciting and dominant backcourts in college basketball.

However, Louisville will also return a key senior and an elite backup to Brown, Kobe Rodgers. It appears the Charleston transfer is flying under the radar behind the Cardinals’ four newest additions, and former ACC Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-ACC member Chucky Hepburn is making sure the college basketball world remembers Rodgers’ name.

The Cardinals additions deserve all the hype they are getting, and the former Cardinal has posted about how excited he is for the program. What his latest tweet is hinting at is that the nation must stop sleeping on Rodgers and show some respect for his name, including him in everyone’s graphics and conversations.

Rodgers transferred to Louisville after his lone year with Kelsey back in Charleston. He missed last season due to a lingering injury from the previous year, but fans must remember how good this guard was before his injury. The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 45 percent from beyond the arc.

The Cardinals’ guard will be the perfect role player off the bench to handle the ball and get these lethal shooters open. Hepburn sees the potential in Rodgers, which is why he made a simple tweet on X, helping the nation remember Rodgers’ name.

“Kobe Rodgers gonna surprise everybody.” Hepburn tweeted out in response to Louisville Basketball News graphic.

The Cardinals will be led by their two 5-stars and two 4-stars, and they will play massive roles in this Cardinals’ roster. However, when fans and media discuss Louisville’s elite backcourt and make a case for why they have the best backcourt in college basketball, it is essential to include Rodgers’ name.
