DraftKings Value Picks
Jrue Holiday ($5,200)
Despite posting similar numbers to his first campaign in Boston, it feels like Jrue Holiday is flying under the radar as the glue of a budding dynasty. The 16-year-vet has fallen to the Celtics fifth scoring option, even with Kristaps Porzingis on the shelf, thanks to the emergence of Payton Pritchard. Even with the reduced responsibility, Holiday is still privy to the occasional offensive showcase on the right night.
Holiday shot a career-high 42.9% from distance a year ago but is amid a significant slump from beyond the arc. He’s buried just five of his last 27 triples and is at 28% from downtown during November. Holiday has become too talented of a shooter for this slump to continue and should be more aggressive in trying to end this skid.
Even at 34, Holiday is one of the best “big game” risers in the league. There isn’t a better matchup right now than the defending champions against the last remaining undefeated team. Watch Holiday bring a different level of intensity to this showdown and have one of his better outings of the young campaign.
Grant Williams ($4,800)
A premier pest, Grant Williams might try to get under his opponent’s skin, but he’s a solid role player. With Charlotte’s dwindling frontcourt depth, Williams has been playing the four and the five. What he lacks in height, he makes up for in grit, always diving on loose balls or trying to make something happen defensively.
After some initial struggles, Williams is starting to put the ball in the basket. He’s netted 15 points in three of his last four games. Williams has begun to improve on the glass and is always due to rack up some steals and blocks. The 25-year-old will never be a featured part of a club’s attack, but he picks his moments well and can deliver viable performances.
The stretch forward gets to square off with a Brooklyn bunch that is more frisky than talented. Williams isn’t scared to launch some jumpers, and with his growing confidence, expect an impressive showing.
