Xaiver Aguiar gives his top DraftKings DFS value plays for Tuesday’s NBA slate.
It’s only been a week, but the NBA feels back in full swing. Players are starting to get acclimated, and teams are looking to get off to a hot start.
DraftKings is offering a daily contest with the chance to win $100,000. After analyzing the four-game slate, I’ve found a pair of value options that are sure to give your lineup the winning edge.

DraftKings Value Picks
Buddy Hield ($5,500)
After being a liability during his recent postseason stint in Philadelphia, Buddy Hield has bounced back nicely to start in the Bay. The flamethrower has averaged 19 points per game in blue and gold, hitting 52% of his shots from three. As expected, he’s taken on the Klay Thompson role of primarily spraying from distance. Of his 21 made attempts on the young campaign, all but one have been at the rim or from beyond the arc. Steve Kerr has clearly emphasized taking (and making) high-percentage shots and Hield as delivered.

With Steph Curry set to miss at least the next two contests with a sprained ankle, Golden State has to find ways to replace his offense. Hield is a favorite to see a slight uptick in volume, with more opportunity to create with the ball in his hands. In a matchup against New Orleans, I like the veteran shooting guard to torch the Pels’ perimeter defense, which has struggled mightily this season. Add in the fact he’s squaring off against the team that drafted him, and Hield has everything in his favor to have a huge night.
Malik Monk ($5,400)
The NBA’s premier sixth man, Malik Monk, is a microwave off the bench. He’s of the rare breed of players that consistently produce excellent looks and efficiently put the ball in the cup. Like Hield, he’s a marksman from downtown but is much more effective at going to the hoop and generating great chances for teammates.

He comes alive in crunch time, sharing the car keys with De’Aaron Fox late. Even with the addition of DeMar DeRozan, Monk is the incumbent and is not scared to call his own number. He came in at 89 on my NBA Top 100 but has stretches of being one of the better scorers in the sport. Monk will be going against Utah on the second night of a back-to-back. The Jazz have no one to throw at the 26-year-old, and he is due for his first scoring explosion of the year.
