Fantasy Basketball Value Picks: Top DraftKings NBA DFS Bargain Plays for February 24

Garion Thorne dives into Monday’s seven-game NBA featured slate to find undervalued players to use in your DraftKings lineups.

It’s only Monday, but things in the NBA are already messy.

There are eight teams on the second night of a back-to-back set this evening, which means we’re operating relatively blind when it comes to assessing tonight’s seven-game featured slate on DraftKings. Obviously, you’re doing the correct thing by reading this article, but you’ll have to keep your head on a swivel for news all afternoon long.

Let’s dive in.

SG/SF Ziaire Williams, Brooklyn Nets at Washington Wizards, $5,000

With Cam Thomas (hamstring) still sidelined and D’Angelo Russell (ankle) joining him, there’s a lot of open opportunity in the Nets’ rotation. Specific to Monday’s slate, the two most intriguing value options appear to be Williams and the recently signed Killian Hayes ($4,100), though Hayes’ salary has spiked in the last 48 hours. The former has been a very steady DFS piece the past few weeks, managing to exceed 20 FPTS in seven of his last nine games — a span where Williams has played more possessions than any Brooklyn player aside from Keon Johnson ($5,500). That minutes volume gives Williams a nice floor, while a matchup with the Wizards should provide the ceiling. Washington owns the NBA’s second-worst defensive rating (118.3) and pairs it with the fourth-fastest pace (102.2). It’s a dream combination for fantasy points.

C Zach Collins, Chicago Bulls at Philadelphia 76ers, $3,300

It’s hard to get too excited about a backup big man, but Collins has the chance for 7x or 8x value this evening thanks to his exceedingly low salary and an injury to Jalen Smith (concussion). In fact, in Chicago’s last contest against Phoenix on Saturday, Collins scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds in just 17.5 minutes of action. That’s 1.18 FPTS per 60 seconds, for those looking to keep track at home. Collins’ upside is clearly limited by the presence of Nikola Vucevic ($7,500), yet if you’re going to log limited minutes, it’s best to do it on an uptempo squad like the Bulls. If you’re looking to punt at center and spend elsewhere, the former lottery pick is your guy.

SF/PF Brice Sensabaugh, Utah Jazz vs. Portland Trail Blazers, $4,200

If there’s a team to watch on Monday — it’s the Jazz. Utah has already ruled out John Collins (back), Jordan Clarkson (foot) and Collin Sexton (ankle) for tonight’s contest with the Blazers, while both Walker Kessler ($7,000; illness) and Lauri Markkanen ($6,900; back) are questionable to suit up. If even one of that duo ends up unavailable, it essentially opens a value buffet for the remaining Jazz players. The No. 1 asset you should be keeping an eye on? Sensabaugh. The sophomore started Saturday’s surprising victory over the Rockets, finishing with 12 points, three assists, three rebounds and 20.75 FPTS. However, the most encouraging stat was Sensabaugh’s 27.6% usage rate, which was the highest mark in the starting lineup. Sensabaugh has proven he can score the basketball at this level. Heck, he dropped a career-high 34 points on the Heat back in early January. The upside is there and he’s surely got the opportunity on this injury-ravaged Utah roster.
