It was a good weekend for Notre Dame football recruiting even though it did not gain a new commitment.
More than a few prospects were on campus, and others that have decided to start winding down the decision-making process. The Irish continue to make positive waves on the recruiting trail, and while they don’t have much to show for recently, they will very soon.
The five biggest developments involving Notre Dame football from this weekend:

Cornerback J’Vari Flowers sets commitment date
In an interesting move, the 5-foot, 11-inch, 165-pound prospect reclassified from the 2026 class to the 2025 class in January. However, Flowers has not signed a letter of intent. Due to the nature of his late move, the nation’s No. 82 overall prospect was given a bit more time than normal, and he is now looking to make a commitment. He took an official visit to Notre Dame earlier this month, so the Irish are squarely in the mix.
Defensive lineman Tiki Hola sets his commitment date
In a much more traditional recruitment, Hola is looking to end the process in about six weeks. He has official visits set for each of his three finalists, and Notre Dame gets the last shot to impress him in mid-June. The Irish would love to add the 6-foot, 2-inch and 285-pounder to their roster. He’s an impressive prospect who ranks No. 312 overall.
Wide receiver Kaydon Finley
It very much looks like the Irish hit a home run with the talented Texan. At 6 feet, 200 pounds, Finley could line up at multiple receiver positions, making him a terror for opposing defenses. Ranked No. 101 overall nationally, it will not be easy for Notre Dame to land him, but it put its best foot forward this weekend.
Wide receiver Mason James
It’s safe to say Notre Dame has made the wide receiver position a big focus in the 2026 recruiting class. The 5-foot, 11-inch 170-pounder is one of the main targets. James was on campus this weekend, and, by all accounts, the visit went well. The Irish are one of the main contenders for his commitment, but don’t have an official visit set. Hopefully one is planned in the near future for the nation’s No. 224 overall prospect.
Running back Brian Bonner Jr.
A big-time California recruit, Bonner was on campus this weekend, and it also looks like the visit went quite well. The country’s No. 99 overall prospect holds the Irish in high regard. While an official visit has not been scheduled, don’t be surprised if one is announced in the near future. At 6 feet, 1 inch and 185 pounds, if Bonner was to land with Notre Dame, he could be the next true freshman running back to make waves.
