Florida has added a blue-chip defensive back to its 2025 recruiting class.
The biggest day on the football recruiting calendar is the beginning of December’s Early Signing Period. Then there’s a National Signing Day, which was held on Feb. 5. J’Vari Flowers, however, was on a bit of a different timeline as a Class of 2026 prospect who reclassified to 2025 in January. On Monday, Flowers announced his commitment to play for Billy Napier at Florida.
Out of Miami (Florida) Northwestern, Flowers is listed at over 5-10 and 165 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Flowers is rated 4-stars, the No. 12 player in the state of Florida, No. 12 cornerback and No. 82 prospect overall in the 2025 recruiting class.
As one of the top defensive backs in the state of Florida, Flowers was a highly sought-after recruit. He collected 33 scholarship offers, with Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Mizzou, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M among the programs to show interest. Flowers told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that he chose Florida over Auburn, Miami and Notre Dame.
With Flowers on board, the Gators have the No. 7 high school class for 2025 on the Composite. Nineteen newcomers were early enrollees who arrived at UF ahead of spring practice. Florida is set to hold its Orange and Blue spring game on April 12.
