The annual Florida State vs. Florida basketball game now has a date set. As per CBS Sports’ college basketball insider Jon Rothstein’s tweet, the game will be played on Nov. 11 in Gainesville, Florida. The time has yet to be determined.
In their last meeting on Nov. 15, 2024, Florida beat Florida State 87-74. The Gators have won the last four matchups in a row. Prior to that, Florida State had won the matchups from 2014-20. Florida leads the all-time head-to-head series 47-28.
The two teams have been playing each other since 1951, when Florida won the first game, 61-51. They then proceeded to win the next three meetings before Florida State finally notched a win against the Gators in basketball for the first time, 82-60. They, however, have never played each other in the NCAA tournament.
This will be the first meeting between the first-year Seminoles head coach Luke Loucks and fourth-year Gators head coach Todd Golden, who is coming off a national championship.
