CINCINNATI — Former UC basketball forward Tyler Betsey has found a new college home after his freshman season at Cincinnati. Betsey is committing to Syracuse out of the transfer portal. On3’s Joe Tipton reported the news.
The freshman averaged 3.3 points and 1.5 rebounds this past season in 11.2 minutes per game.
Betsey flashed as a shooter for the Bearcats but didn’t impact games much besides that occasional outside shot throughout the season (32.1% from deep).
The 6-8, 225-pound talent holds three more years of eligibility. He was Cincinnati’s fifth-highest-rated recruit of the 247Sports era and leaves Tyler McKinley as the lone recruit at UC from the 2024 class.
