One of the best outfielders in the history of the University of South Carolina’s baseball program has landed a sweet new gig.
Jackie Bradley Jr. has joined ESPN as a college baseball studio and game analyst. His first appearance will come on SEC Network this weekend.
Bradley will return to Columbia to call a game on Thursday, May 15 as the Gamecocks host LSU.
“I’m honored to join ESPN and can’t wait to get started covering the game I love,” Bradley told ESPN. “College baseball has grown a ton since I was at South Carolina, and I hope I can contribute to the sport’s continued growth and popularity through our coverage of the student-athletes who give it their all.”
During his time in Columbia, Bradley helped lead the Gamecocks to two national championships and earned recognition as the Most Outstanding Player of the 2010 College World Series. His standout performance caught the attention of Major League scouts, and he was selected 40th overall in the 2011 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox.
Bradley went on to play a key role in the Red Sox’s 2018 World Series championship run, where he was named Most Valuable Player of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) for his performances at the plate and in the field.
