Mike Pouncey was born in Florida, and he was able to stay true to his roots during his professional career in the NFL. The center played for the Miami Dolphins from 2011 to 2018, and he finished his career with two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. The retired player is moving on from his home in Fort Lauderdale, and he leaves behind a unique feature fit for a serious football fan.
“What truly sets this home apart is the private, fully turfed field. It’s incredibly rare to find that kind of open, recreational space on the water in Fort Lauderdale,” Kimberly Knausz, the listing agent at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, told Realtor.com. “Whether you’re tossing a football, practicing your short game or just watching the kids run around, it’s the ultimate luxury of space and lifestyle in one.”
Don’t Miss:
The 5,595-square-foot property has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. It sits in Las Olas Isles, a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood made up of canals off New River. The home features a pool, a summer kitchen, a dock and Control4 smart home technology. With an oversized island in the kitchen and floor-to-ceiling glass to enjoy the views, it’s all about entertaining and indoor-outdoor living.
The third floor boasts a wet bar, an enclosed gym and an open terrace — yet we’d still consider the field the star of the home. It takes up a lot all on its own. Naturally, it’s designed for a Dolphins fan, complete with the team logo. However, the space also has a basketball net, and it can be used for soccer and other sports. Plus, it’s located directly next to the water for an incredible backdrop.
Trending: BlackRock is calling 2025 the year of alternative assets. One firm from NYC has quietly built a group of 60,000+ investors who have all joined in on an alt asset class previously exclusive to billionaires like Bezos and Gates.
“There was originally a house on the lot next door, which I tore down to build a football field for added privacy,” Pouncey told the New York Post. “It made sense, since our son is the next in line for football in the Pouncey family tree.”
According to the Zillow listing, this property was sold for $4.1 million in 2020, the year the home was also built. Now, it’s being sold for $6.95 million.
So, where is the 35-year-old off to? Don’t worry — he’s not leaving the Sunshine State. “We built our retirement home on a 220-acre ranch in Okeechobee and plan to move there full-time once our son finishes high school,” Pouncey told The Post of his 11-year-old son.
