PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – John Rhys Plumlee, who starred at Oak Grove High School before going on to play college football at the University of Mississippi and the University of Central Florida, has a path to play in the National Football League Sunday.
Plumlee was signed from the Seattle Seahawks’ practice roster Thursday and added to the NFL team’s roster ahead of Sunday’s regular-season finale with the Los Angeles Rams.
Plumlee, a quarterback in high school and college, signed with Seattle’s practice squad in November and has worked at receiver.
Plumlee initially signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers following this spring’s draft. He later joined the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars before moving on to the Seahawks.
