Former President Donald Trump was reportedly supposed to attend Saturday’s mega matchup in Happy Valley between Ohio State and Penn State. However, the current candidate for President will instead be attending a rally in Salem, Virginia, at 4 p.m., a university spokesman told Onward State.
The Ohio State-Penn State showdown starts at noon ET, so it would have been next to impossible for Trump to attend the game and make it to the rally. The reports of Trump attending the game first broke last Thursday, before Penn State confirmed that it was a private citizen who invited Trump to watch the game with his group.

Trump was just in Happy Valley last Saturday, speaking at the Bryce Jordan Center. His appearance in State College was part of a number of recent campaign stops by both Republicans and Democrats in Happy Valley, with Election Day approaching on Nov. 5.
While Trump will not be at the Ohio State-Penn State game, he has made a point of being at a lot of major college football games in recent years, both when he was President and now while running as a candidate for President. In late September, Trump attended the titanic SEC showdown between Georgia and Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
