NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WBTV) – A former University of North Carolina football player and NFL All-Pro was arrested in South Carolina this past week.
Jail records show that 34-year-old Robert Quinn was arrested early in the morning on Jan. 10 and was charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash.
Sister-station WCSC reported that his arrest came after he allegedly crashed his Ford F-150 into another car, which then hit at least two other vehicles in a parking lot in North Charleston. Shortly after the collision, police found Quinn in the passenger seat of a Dodge Challenger. The woman driving the car said he had called her and asked for a ride.
WCSC said that once police found him inside the Challenger, he refused to get out and officers had to pull him out to arrest him.
Quinn had several scrapes from the crash and was taken to the hospital before going to jail. Records show he was released that afternoon.
A native of Ladson, S.C., Quinn was also charged in a hit-and-run case in a Charleston-area neighborhood in August 2023.
Quinn played for UNC during the 2008 and 2009 seasons before he was ruled ineligible by the NCAA in 2010 for receiving “improper benefits.” A pass-rushing specialist, he entered the NFL Draft in 2011 and was taken in the first round by the Rams.
The three-time Pro Bowl player spent seven years with the Rams before going on to play for the Dolphins, Cowboys, Bears and Eagles. He last played in the NFL in 2022. Quinn was an All-Pro choice in 2013 and 2021, and finished his NFL career with 102 sacks, 32 forced fumbles and 109 tackles for loss. He made over $112 million during his time in the NFL, according to Spotrac.
