Four Players In College Football Playoff Patriots Must Have On Draft Board

While Patriots coaches and players prepare for the Bills, Eliot Wolf’s personnel department surely will be watching the College Football Playoff quarterfinals very closely.

Three games will round out the quarterfinal round Wednesday after Penn State earned a 31-14 victory over Boise State on Tuesday night. That game featured some of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft with Nittany Lions edge rusher Abdul Carter and Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty, but plenty more will take the field Wednesday.

Here are four prospects the Patriots should have on their draft boards:

Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
No. 4 Arizona State vs. No. 5 Texas, 1 p.m. ET
Chances are Patriots fans have heard the name previously, given Banks is arguably the top offensive tackle in the 2025 class. The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Banks will compete with LSU’s Will Campbell to be the first offensive lineman off the board in April. He won the Lombardi Award for the nation’s best collegiate lineman and has allowed three sacks in 37 career starts at left tackle.

Josh Conerly Jr., LT, Oregon
No. 1 Oregon vs. No. 8 Ohio State, 5 p.m. ET
Conerly hasn’t garnered as much attention as Banks or Campbell ahead of the NFL Draft, but he was one of the top offensive linemen in the country coming out of high school. A two-year starter at Oregon, Conerly stands at 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds. His potential is quite clear given his ability showcased in Oregon’s dynamic offense. He’ll have the chance to improve his stock Wednesday against Ohio State edge defenders.

Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
No. 1 Oregon vs. No. 8 Ohio State, 5 p.m. ET
The Buckeyes have plenty of potential Patriots on their roster, and Egbuka is chief among them. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound wideout is one of the best route runners in the class, but ranks behind Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan overall. If the Patriots trade back, Egbuka almost certainly will be on the board after those two pass-catchers. Egbuka is coming off a five-catch, 81-yard performance against Tennessee.

Jared Wilson, C, Georgia
No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 7 Notre Dame, 8:45 p.m. ET
Wilson projects as one of the best centers in the 2025 class with exceptional athleticism and high-end speed for the position. Patriots longtime center David Andrews, who suffered a season-ending injury, is nearing the end of his career and Cole Strange, who started his first game at center in Week 17, has dealt with a myriad of injuries himself. It figures to be a position the Patriots could try to address in the draft, and Wilson figures to be a Day 3 pick, which could align for the Patriots, who have a handful of major needs.

Honorable mentions:
Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame; Jack Sawyer, OLB, Ohio State; Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia; Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia
