The Boston Red Sox could not be more excited to see the calendar flip to 2025.
Their third consecutive playoff miss is in the past. Now, Boston has a pair of quality starters joining the rotation and a new wave of youth ready to make the jump to the show. If the Red Sox stay healthy and play to potential, 2025 could bring fun back to Fenway Park in an intriguing season for Alex Cora’s club in Boston.
Could more stars break out? Is Boston ready for a return to the postseason?
Here are four bold predictions for the Red Sox in 2025:
More Red Sox
Garrett Crochet wins American League Cy Young
Boston should greatly benefit from its aggressive move to acquire Crochet, doing so in a blockbuster trade with the Chicago White Sox.

The 25-year-old lefty makes lands in Boston after his first full season as a starter featured dominant strikeout numbers and an improved arsenal. Pair that potential with pitching coach Andrew Bailey and Crochet should soar with the Red Sox.
The Red Sox acquired Crochet in hopes he would emerge as their ace of the future. He can prove it in 2025.
Triston Casas hits 30 home runs
Casas found his name in several trade rumors after an injury-riddled 2024 campaign. Apparently, that was enough for some to forget his previous campaign when the Red Sox slugger finished third for American League Rookie of the Year.
Casas has true power and a quality plate approach. This should be the year the Red Sox first baseman mashes from wire to wire.

Kristian Campbell marks first top prospect to debut
The years of farm system rebuilding will pay off for the Red Sox in 2025.
Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer headlined the rising talent wave in the minor leagues for a number of years. The 2024 season then saw the rapid, three-level rise of Campbell, a 2023 fourth-rounder.
His right-handed pop and positional versatility give Campbell the best chance to debut first. Maybe even as early as Opening Day for the Red Sox.
Red Sox make playoffs
Boston addressed the rotation. It has legitimate arms in a bullpen reshuffle. The offense, which has finished top 10 in baseball (OPS) for seven straight years, will put up runs.

The Red Sox will have to find a way to get over their second-half slump. If they do, they’ll return to the playoffs for the first time since 2021.
