Tennessee is already recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class. The Vols offered a scholarship to four-star offensive tackle Carter Jones.
“After a great camp and conversation with coach Glen Elarbee, I’m blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee,” Jones announced.
The 6-foot-5, 291-pound prospect is from Poquoson High School in Poquoson, Virginia. 247Sports ranks Jones as the No. 28 tackle in 2027 and No. 6 player in Virginia.
Old Dominion was the first school to offer him a scholarship on June 2, 2024. Power Four programs to offer Jones a scholarship include Syracuse, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Duke, North Carolina State, West Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Maryland, Rutgers, Penn State, Virginia, Indiana, South Carolina, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Florida State and Clemson.
Tennessee does not have a commitment in its 2027 football recruiting class. The Vols have eight commitments in their 2026 recruiting class: quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, wide receiver Tyran Evans, linebacker Braylon Outlaw, defensive lineman C.J. Edwards and defensive lineman Zach Groves.
