FSU baseball’s Link Jarrett talks win over North Carolina, upcoming ACC tournament
Florida State baseball will host an NCAA regional.
The Seminoles (38-14) were announced as one of the 16 host sites for the regional rounds that lead to the College World Series. The NCAA announced the host cities on Sunday, May 25, and the full field of teams competing will be announced on Monday, May 26, at noon.
FSU is one of three ACC teams hosting regionals, joining Clemson and ACC Tournament champion North Carolina.
FSU lost its ACC tournament semifinal to North Carolina 7-5, and the loss put the Seminoles’ hopes of earning a top-eight seed in jeopardy.
While the top 16 teams will host regionals, the top eight seeds in the CWS will host super regionals, should they advance. If FSU misses out on a top-eight seed, there is still a path to a super regional in Tallahassee, but it requires some moving parts.
Depending on the Seminoles’ seed, the winner of the Tallahassee regional would match up with one of the super regional programs on the road if the top eight seed advances through the regional round. If the top eight seed were to lose in its regional round, FSU could host a super regional as the highest remaining seed in the designated bracket matchup, should it win its home regional.
How to watch the CWS bracket release show?
