Georgia football great David Pollack says his wife has brain cancer

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Former Georgia Bulldog and ESPN analyst David Pollack announced that his wife will undergo surgery for brain cancer.

In a statement, Pollack said his wife will undergo surgery Wednesday at Duke University Hospital.

“I do not share much of my personal life on social media but today is gonna be different,” Pollack wrote. “If you are the praying type please lift up my wife Lindsey. She has brain cancer and surgery is Wednesday at Duke. So thankful to serve a loving God that meets us in our struggles!”

Pollack grew up in Snellville and played linebacker for the Bulldogs from 2001 to 2004.

The College Football Hall of Famer is Georgia’s all-time leader with 36 sacks and set a single season record in 2002 with 14. He was drafted in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft and spent just over a season in the league before his career was cut short due to injury.

He was a college football analyst for ESPN from 2009 to 2023.
