Georgia Tech’s Kyle Lodise is becoming the best leadoff hitters in college baseball

With the college baseball season now hitting it’s stride, players are starting to hit a point to where they can be considered for having great seasons instead of just having a great start, and one of those players that people around the college baseball landscape should keep their eye on is Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets shortstop Kyle Lodise.

Lodise is unequivocally the best hitter in the Yellow Jackets lineup, but I think that it is time for him to be considered among the best leadoff hitters in the entire country.

Lodise is currently hitting .389 and leads the Yellow Jackets in hits (44) and home runs (12), but he leads the ACC in home runs and is currently third in the country in the category. Lodise leads the Yellow Jackets in slugging percentage this season, sitting with a .850.

For the Yellow Jackets, the impact of Lodise can not be underestimated, as he has stepped up multiple times for the team throughout the season.

Over the weekend, Lodise had one of the greatest games that any Yellow Jackets player has had this season, as he would go 4-6 in the Yellow Jackets 18-2 win over the No.6 ranked Clemson Tigers. In the game, Lodise would have a lead off home run on the second pitch of the game, added another home run later in the game, a double, and through it all, drove in six RBIs.

Lodise has been a huge contributor for the Yellow Jackets this season, and this could be just the beginning of a breakout season for the junior.
