There are 55 players who are on the 2025 Golden Spikes Watch list, the award given to the best amateur baseball player in the country. The list includes four high school players, including star prospect Ethan Holliday, and players from the Division II and Division II levels like Dennis Pierce of East Stroudsburg.
It also includes a heaping handful of players who will play at the College Baseball Showdown in February. Over three weeks, Globe Life Field will host the Shriner Children’s Baseball Showdown and the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 begins starting on Feb. 14.
The three weeks, collectively known as the College Baseball Showdown, is in its fifth year and showcases the best players, teams and conferences in Division I baseball every February.
This year, the event features 15 players who are on the Golden Spikes Watch List.

Where Is The 2025 College Baseball Showdown?
The Shriners Children’s College Showdown and two-weekend Amegy Bank College Baseball Series presented by Kubota will take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, and feature some of the top teams in the nation.
The 2025 season will mark the fifth consecutive year of college baseball at Globe Life Field – home of the world champion Texas Rangers – and the second straight year the action will span three weekends.
When Is The College Baseball Showdown?
The first weekend of the festivities, the Shriners Children’s College Showdown, will begin on Friday, Feb. 14 and will run through Feb. 16.
The following two weeks of action, the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series, will take place Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 28-March 2.
To keep the momentum going between the weekends, the series also will include four midweek games at Globe Life Field. Those contests will take place Feb. 18, Feb. 19, Feb. 26 and March 5.
