The Guardians announced that Shane Bieber, rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, will be shut down for roughly a week. Bieber reported soreness after a bullpen session, leading to his rehab outing with the RubberDucks being scratched.
Bieber met with Dr. Keith Meister, who performed the original surgery in April of 2024. Around the middle of next week, Bieber will be re-evaluated.
Catcher Austin Hedges could also be headed for the 7-day concussion injured list after being hit during Wednesday’s game by Jazz Chisholm. Catching prospect Dom Nunez could be an option to take Hedges’ place if he does land on the IL.
