GOODYEAR, Ariz. — There will be no Guardians spring training games on TV or cable TV as MLB negotiates with different carriers to find a regular-season home for the Guardians.
The Guardians will carry five Cactus League games starting with Saturday’s spring opener against the Reds on their new direct to consumer streaming app. The five games will be free, but fans must register at CleGuardians.TV.
The five games will be Saturday vs. the Reds; 2/24 vs. the Brewers, 4/14 vs Seattle; 3/17 vs. the Reds and 3/19 vs. the Athletics.
Cleveland will also stream MLB’s Spring Breakout game featuring the best prospects in baseball. The Guardians’ prospects will play the Mariners’ prospects on March 14.
The Guardians will also pick up the opposing streaming feeds from the Rockies on March 13 and Diamondbacks on March 24.
The Guardians and MLB reached a deal in October where MLB will produce and distribute their games for 2025. Previously the Guardians had a contract with Diamond Sports Group, recently renamed Main Street Sports Group, that ran through 2027.
MSSG ended the contract after the 2024 season.
MLB produces games for the Guardians, Padres, Rockies, Twins and Diamondbacks.
