WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – High school basketball topping the local sports menu on Sunday, with games on tap from the Northern Athletic Conference.

Then it’s LaFlair to Carlee Thompson inside for the bucket. Blue Devils up 2.
Pirie splashes home the 3-ball for Lisbon.
Lisbon beats OFA 78-28.
The postseason gets underway this week in the Frontier League, with boys and girls playoffs on tap.
On the boy’s side, the Sackets Harbor Patriots will look to defend their Frontier League D division title.
The defending Section 3 Class D champs and state Class D runners-up finished the regular season 14-4 overall. 11-0 in Frontier League divisional play.
The players and coaches say a couple of things will be key if they hope to make another long run in the postseason.
“I think defense is gonna be a main key just like it was last year. We didn’t make it to the state championships just by scoring buckets. Anyone can score buckets,” said Marcus Castine.
“Just keep coming to practice, working hard, doing the little things and that will take us far,” said Jake Peters.
“It’s all coming together as a team, right? Being one is what we need to do. We worked really hard at that last year and by the end of the year we were really at that point,” said Dale Phillips.
On the college hardwood, the JCC women’s basketball team extended their win streak to 14 straight Saturday with a 70-66 non-conference win over Sullivan Community College
Coach Jeff Wiley’s team sits at 17-4 overall. A perfect 10-0 in Mid-State conference play.
Wiley credits the team’s hot streak to a tough early season schedule that saw his club get off to a 3-4 start to the 2024-25 season.
“Well, I think that, you know, early in the season we played those tough games out of conference and it prepared us well for our Mid-State conference run. Right now we’re undefeated and hopefully, we can continue that run, In our Mid-State conference we have OCC the last game of the year and I think whoever wins that one will probably be hosting the Mid-State Conference. SAo, it’s a big game coming up on February 18th,” said Jeff Wiley.
