Vanderbilt looks to avoid a second straight loss when they host Alabama on Sunday afternoon in college baseball.
The Vanderbilt Commodores take on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sunday afternoon in the rubber match of their three-game series. The Commodores had the bats going in the opener on Friday, as they won 12-2 in eight innings. The bats cooled off on Saturday, though, as they managed just two runs in a 5-2 loss to the Crimson Tide. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak and dropped them to 33-14 overall and 13-10 in the SEC. They now sit in a sixth place tie with Oklahoma and Alabama in the conference standings. They are one game back in the loss column to both Georgia and Tennessee. They swept Georgia two weekends ago, but then lost two of three to Ole Miss last weekend. Sunday they will look to avoid the same fate against Alabama.

The Crimson Tide, though, are looking to win a second straight game and pick up a huge road series win over Vanderbilt.
The win on Saturday was their sixth in the last seven games and it pushed their record to 36-11 overall and 13-10 in the SEC.
Last weekend the Crimson Tide swept Missouri, but they had lost three straight SEC series before that.
Sunday they will look to get a second straight series win before they take on Troy in a mid-week non-conference game. They will then return home for a three-game series against Georgia next weekend.
